Okay, I admit it. I hate alphabet worksheets for preschoolers. I do! They will be exposed to the rigorous demands of academic life soon enough; why not let them play and be creative? So why have I created a bundle of them? Good question! I have added these to my repertoire of products because kindergarten has become a challenge for many of my preschoolers. This struggle is mainly due to our “play-based” philosophy, which I love, and so do our preschoolers!
Kindergarten is demanding and academic, and my students struggle a little when transitioning from our “play-based” preschool into the rigorous academic life of a kindergartener. I don’t want to set them up for failure right at the start, so we have incorporated these “letter sheets” into our morning work. Once students have mastered writing their names, they move into independent seat work. These come in handy, and our students enjoy them!
