We are gearing up in our classroom to learn about baby animals! What a perfect thematic unit for the new year or for Spring. Many of our students struggle with labeling animals, even though the topic is exciting and fun for them. I try to incorporate as many “real” photos into my lessons to give them exposure to what these animals really look like. When designing these, I try to think through every aspect of my day, from morning task bins to whole-group instruction, small groups, and free choice.
